PBR Name: DC3000

This robust Dianella is known for it's height and immensity of strappy, light green foliage. Lithe is easily cared for, hardy and long lived. It performs very well in full sun or part shade and is an ideal informal natural landscape border or garden filler. Lithe offers an excellent colour highlight, especially in spring with it's blue/purple flowers and berries.

Height to 1.2m
Width to 60cm
Planting
Able to handle many soil types, but, like most native plants, will do best in free-draining soil. Position Lithe in a full sun location, however they will perform quite well in part shade.
Watering
A drought tolerant plant that rarely needs supplementary watering above that of natural rainfall. The reason is that they have narrow, water-saving leaves and derive their water and nutrients from underground rhizomes.
Fertiliser
Dianella aren’t fussy feeders; just give them a small amount of a general purpose or native plant controlled release fertiliser once a year.
Pruning
It’s best to remove spent flower stems by cutting them off at the base of the stem. You can cut the entire plant back to ground level to encourage fresh growth which will emerge from the underground rhizomes. Autumn is a good time to do this.
Pests and Diseases
Dianella has no major pest or disease issues. A classic, easy-care plant!
